Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Tarangire Game Drive

After breakfast, we head out for our first safari adventure – a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is known for its huge elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, making it a great introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife. We’ll spend the day exploring the park, looking for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and the park’s abundant birdlife. The Tarangire River is a focal point, attracting hippos and crocodiles. We’ll return to our lodge in Karatu in the late afternoon, where we’ll have dinner and prepare for the next day’s long journey. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Karatu.

Day 3: Journey to the Northern Serengeti
Journey to the Northern Serengeti

Today is a long but rewarding travel day. We’ll start early and drive from Karatu, through the Ngorongoro highlands and the Central Serengeti, up to the Northern Serengeti near the Mara River. Along the way, we’ll have a game drive, so keep your eyes peeled for any wildlife sightings. The landscape gradually opens up into the vast Serengeti plains. We’ll stop for lunch en route. As we approach the Mara River area in the late afternoon, we’ll check into our mobile camp or lodge in the Northern Serengeti. The rest of the day is yours to relax and enjoy the views of the endless savannah. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Northern Serengeti Mobile Camp/Lodge.

Day 4 & 5: Mara River Crossings
Great Migration: Mara River Crossing

These are the days you’ve been waiting for – two full days dedicated to the Great Wildebeest Migration. We’ll wake up early and head to strategic points along the Mara River, where the wildebeest and zebra herds are known to cross. Your guide will have done extensive research and will stake out these locations, waiting for the dramatic spectacle of thousands of animals plunging into the crocodile-infested waters. This is a thrilling and unpredictable event – patience is key, but the reward is a once-in-a-lifetime sighting of wildebeest swimming and jumping across the river, with crocodiles lurking below. We’ll spend the morning and afternoon at the river, taking in the action from a safe distance. We’ll have packed lunches by the river. After each day of crossings, we’ll return to camp for dinner and rest. These days are truly unforgettable as you witness nature’s raw power and beauty. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Northern Serengeti.

Day 6: Central Serengeti Exploration
Central Serengeti Game Drive

After the excitement of the crossings, we’ll travel south to the Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley), known as the “big cat capital” of Africa. The Seronera area is renowned for its high density of predators, and we’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive searching for lions, leopards, and cheetahs. We might also spot large herds of buffalo and antelopes. The Central Serengeti is a quieter region, offering a different vibe from the bustling Mara area. We’ll return to our lodge for dinner and a peaceful night’s sleep. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Central Serengeti.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

After a morning game drive in the Serengeti, we’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We’ll stop at the Ngorongoro Crater rim for some spectacular views of the caldera. Then, we’ll descend into the crater for an afternoon of wildlife viewing in this unique, self-contained ecosystem. The crater is teeming with animals – you’ll likely see lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and many others. We’ll have a picnic lunch by the hippo pool. As evening approaches, we’ll make our way back up the crater rim and drive to our lodge in Karatu. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Karatu.

Day 8: Departure
Final Day – Departure

After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll drive back to Arusha. We’ll make a stop for lunch in Arusha and then transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure. We hope you’ve had an extraordinary safari experience witnessing the Great Migration – it’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.
